The Serious Eater interview and feature on midEATS!

Who is the Serious Eater?

This is the first post which is not a recipe, but it's worth it!

TSE (The Serious Eater) was interviewed by midEATS, the most comprehensive Middle Eastern food blog on the internet as of today. I was contacted by the team there, Brenda and Heba, to do an interview and also feature a recipe on midEATS. Heba stumbled on my blog when she was looking for a roasted pumpkin seeds (libb abyad) recipe. Turns out, she is as much as an addict as I am, even though I have tried to reform my ways!  I was more than happy to do so, and got a bit carried away; my answers are very long, but I tried to be entertaining.

They also featured my Biscuit au Chocolat [Baskoot bil Chocalata] recipe, which is a must try if you haven't tasted it before.

So if you are interested to see the inner workings of TSE, and my favorite local Egyptian food places, check out the interview.

Special thanks to Heba, who was very patient for the reply! You can check her own personal blog, My Life in a Pyramid here where she focuses on healthy living; you won't find a recipe for deep fried candy bars there, but you will find some interesting healthy options.

Also, I will have some big news about changes on the website soon, so stay posted!

What are you having for dinner tonight? I am having some celebratory Biscuit au Chocolat to eat now!

  1. Haha love this post! Thanks for the shout out for my healthy living blog too. The interview was indeed awesome. I'm totally making the biscuit au chocolat for my bday (in March)! Thanks for the recipe which reminded me of my childhood :)

  2. Happy Birthday in advance, will be sending you virtual bday cake!

  3. Ameirah - I just stumbled across your blog from MidEats, and I'm so glad I did! So great to find a fellow Egyptian food blogger, writing from the heart of Cairo no less. Loved reading your interview and I look forward to reading through the archives of your blog :) Subscribing for sure!

  4. Thanks Nada for your visit! You stumbled at a good time, I will have some vegan dishes up next ;)

Love your endless supply of hummus related recipes!
